Cisco Networking Academy (CNA) is a worldwide education program focused on the infrastructure of computer networks and communications technology which is recognized by many foreign armed forces as well as by business companies. It consists of theory teaching of network architecture and of plenty of practical exercises with routers and CISCO switches. It also contains a set of the first-rate multimedia teaching materials.
The whole system of teaching is based on a modern approach corresponding with current trends of e-learning education. Students will have a complete educational website cisco.netacad at their disposal where they will find all the information they will need. This education program will help the students to gain a view from above modern network architecture. It will lead them to understand functions of individual network components and to teach the students basic configurations and how to use all the devices.
The classroom is equipped with CISCO 2008 routers, CISCO Catalyst 2960 switches of Ethernet and wireless CISCO-Linksys WRT-610N routers.
The first CISCO course is attended currently by nine students. It is supposed that by 2010 twenty-seven students will complete this course and will be able to operate the equipment within the whole Army network (CADS) as well as in a field of communication systems (TAKOM) both in the Czech Republic and abroad during the missions of the Czech Armed Forces.
