Blasonace

The green Spanish shield, crossed gold swords in the centre with a sword-hilt turned downwards (obliquely laid gold sword with a sword-hilt turned downwards; it was crossed-over, i.e. slantingly laid second gold sword with a sword-hilt turned downwards). Over the swords, there is a gold mace with a mallet laid upwards. The shield has a blue-red-white hem.

The symbol of a sword and mace was also used on the sign of the War College graduate (1921) and the Military School graduate (1949). At the request of Brig. Gen. Jiří HALAŠKA, the commander of the 4th Training and Doctrine Command, the Historical Institute of the Czech Armed Forces approved the sign, its description and colors on January 12, 2003 (ser. No.: 3033/4/2003-1241).

Interpretation

The Spanish shield is a symbol of the commanding level – headquarters.

The sword symbolizes knighthood. The crossed swords represent all army branch specialties (i.e. all specialties within the armed forces).

The mace symbolizes the commanding authority (from the 15th century). A mace, a hammer-type striking weapon is a sign of a commander. It is a mallet with a wood or metal handle, for example, consisting of several leaf ribs of various shapes.

The blue-red-white hem is a symbol of the nation-wide authority of the headquarters (colors of the Czech nationhood).
