On Wednesday 11th November 2009 a War Veterans` Day took place within the premises of Dědice quarters. A parade ceremony of war veterans from Vyškov Garrison units and facilities was held on the occasions of the 91st anniversary of the end of the World War I and War Veterans` Day.

During the ceremony which was attended by Roman Celý and Karel Jurka, Deputy Mayors of Vyškov, as well as by garrison`s personnel, military organizations and other important guests, Biding of the Minister of Defence on the occasion of the War Veterans` Day was read. Afterwards Colonel GS Jaromír Zůna, TC – MA Commander, mentioned a factual contribution of TC – MA to deepening of military traditions.

Colonel Zůna said: “First-rate and efficient training and education of military professionals of all levels oblige us not to forget neither historic message nor roots of our military traditions”. He went on emphasizing: “The preparation of a military professional includes studying and knowledge of military history, army history and military specialization. Also this is our commitment to commemorate all those who fought and laid down their lives for freedom and democracy”.

One of the items on the agenda was a commemoration of deceased soldiers at which assisted First Lieutenant Pavel Matoušek, military chaplain of Training Command – Military Academy.

At the following meeting of the garrison`s commanders with war veterans participated not only soldiers and civilian employees of the garrison who had taken part at missions abroad, but also members of Vyškov Military Senior Club with its Chairman Karel Čvančar, Retired Colonel.

At ten o`clock a morning service held for the deceased in wars and armed conflicts took place in a garrison`s chapel. Afterwards there was a reverent act at the Cenotaph at Vyškov Cemetery at which Major Karel Polínek, Garrison`s Manager, delegation of a civil union Czech and Slovak Artillery Club lead by his chief Colonel Ivan Mrázek and Petr Hájek, Czech Parliament MP, were present.

Simultaneously more reverent acts took place at eleven sacred places within the garrison`s premises.
