The Institute of Transportation Training is a purpose-built departmental institution delegated to develop concepts, legislation and traffic education programs for training the armed forces vehicle drivers and the traffic education specialists. It deals with the tasks of the program of the CR Government in the area of road traffic safety and is responsible for an application of legal regulations focused on specific features of the traffic within the armed forces.
The Czech Armed Forces Institute of Transportation Training was established on January 1, 2000 in accordance with the CR Government Decree on Action Program to improve the road traffic safety, as the working place with an army-wide competence to develop conceptions and legislation, to prepare drivers of the armed forces and specialists of traffic education. From January 1, 2009 it was attached to the Training Command – Military Academy in Vyškov.
The Institute of Transportation Training is a center of preparation of military professionals, active reserves and civilian employees to carry out positions of the driver preparation specialists and the armed forces vehicle drivers.

The main task of the Methodology and Professional Qualification Section is to participate in a development of conceptions and legislation for the preparation of drivers of the armed forces, to ensure development and to carry out traffic education of the ACR personnel aimed at application of standards into the preparation of the armed forces vehicle drivers and focused on specifics of traffic within the armed forces. It also carries out professional, qualification, specialized and methodological preparation of specialists of driver preparation and traffic education. It organizes traffic safety campaigns in the field of road traffic.
The Methodology and Legislation Section participates in the creation of military legislation, prepares professional military regulations, methodology and aids for armed forces driver preparation and vehicle operation. It further takes part in research and developmental activities to introduce simulation and training technologies, new equipment and training devices for driver’s preparation, cooperates with organizations involved in road traffic legislation, development of traffic education and safety of traffic programs.
The Professional Qualification Section provides instruction and training in qualification and specialized courses of teachers and military driving examiners, teachers of military traffic control service, driver’s and specialist’s preparation for hazardous material transportation. It provides an obligatory instruction of drivers and training courses for coordinators of unit driver preparation.
The main mission of the Military School for Drivers is full support to basic professional preparation for all categories of drivers and purpose-built and professional courses for drivers, i.e. for an attainment of civilian driver licenses in various categories as well as driving licenses of the armed forces vehicles.
The preparation of drivers working places prepare drivers of personal cars, trucks, combat vehicles to attain the armed forces vehicle driver’s license of class V-A (motorcycles), V-H (road passenger cars), V-B (road cross-country vehicles), V-C (vehicles more than 3.5ton), V-C+E (trailers more than 750 kg), V-T (tractors), V-D (buses), V-P (tracked combat vehicles), V-K (wheeled combat vehicles), V-Z (special vehicles).
The main mission of the Security Classification of Information Section is to organize material and technical support for the Institute and to its performed education activities. It provides medical support instruction and training. Its responsibility is to plan, control and evaluate operation, maintenance and repair of the assigned training vehicles and teaching facilities.
